Everything you need to know about getting started and getting the best results.
Getting Started
How do I upgrade my plan?
Log in to your Dashboard and click the "Upgrade" button on the plan you'd like. The upgrade takes effect immediately — no sales call needed. You can change your plan anytime.
How do I register and set up my account?
Click "Try Evidoc Free" on our homepage. You'll be taken to the sign-up page — click "No account? Create one" to create an account with your email. No credit card required — the free plan includes 200 queries per month. Once signed in, you're ready to upload documents and start asking questions.
How do I upload and analyze my documents?
From your dashboard, drag and drop files or folders into the upload area — or click to browse. Evidoc supports 12 formats including PDF, Word, Excel, and scanned images. After uploading, select a folder and press the "Analyze now" button — Evidoc will analyze your documents by building a Knowledge Graph that connects every entity, date, and concept across your files.
What file formats are supported?
Evidoc supports PDF, Word (DOCX), Excel (XLSX), PowerPoint (PPTX), HTML, plain text (TXT), CSV, and images (JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, HEIF). For scanned documents and images, our OCR engine extracts text automatically. Native (digital) PDFs produce the best results.
Understanding Results
Why does document quality affect my query results?
Evidoc extracts text from your documents to build a Knowledge Graph. If the source text is poor — due to low-resolution scans, OCR errors, or inconsistent formatting — the extracted information may be incomplete or inaccurate. Native (digitally-created) PDFs produce the best results. For scanned documents, higher resolution (300 DPI+) significantly improves accuracy.
Why do some queries return better answers than others?
Evidoc works best with specific, factual questions — for example, "What is the termination notice period in the Acme contract?" rather than "Tell me about the contract." Questions that can be answered by precise passages in your documents will produce the most accurate, well-cited results. Vague or overly broad questions may return less focused answers.
What types of questions work best?
Evidoc excels at: (1) Factual lookups — "What is the liability cap?" (2) Cross-document comparisons — "How do the two contracts differ on payment terms?" (3) Enumeration — "Which documents mention force majeure?" (4) Multi-hop reasoning — "Was Invoice #2847 charged at the amended rate?" General summarization ("Summarize everything") works but produces broader results.
Troubleshooting
My documents are taking a long time to analyze. Is that normal?
Analysis time depends on the number and size of your documents. A few PDFs typically finish in under a minute. Large batches (50+ documents) or scanned files that require OCR may take several minutes. You can start querying documents that have already finished analyzing while the rest are still processing.
Why are some answers missing information I know is in my documents?
This usually happens when: (1) the document is a scanned image with OCR errors — try re-scanning at higher resolution, (2) the information spans an unusual layout like a multi-column table — Evidoc handles most layouts, but highly complex formatting can sometimes cause extraction gaps, or (3) the question is too broad — try rephrasing with more specific terms.
Can I use Evidoc in languages other than English?
Yes! Evidoc supports 13 languages with real-time translation. You can upload documents in one language and ask questions in another — for example, upload English contracts and ask questions in Thai. Both text and voice input are supported.
Privacy & Security
Where is my data stored?
All user data is stored in EU data centers, fully GDPR-compliant. Your files are isolated per account and never used for model training.
Is my data used to train AI models?
No — never. Your documents and queries are used solely to generate answers for you. Nothing is shared with third parties or used to train or improve AI models.
Who can access my documents?
Only you and the team members you explicitly invite. Every account is fully isolated, and Business and Enterprise plans include folder-level access controls.
